Frequently Asked Questions

What is the traditional crema made with?

Typically it's made with heavy cream, buttermilk and lime.

How thick should it be?

Crema is used more as a dollop over food such as tacos, nachos or burritos so it needs to be thick enough to dollop. However, some prefer it a little looser so they can drizzle over salads or hearty burrito or taco bowls.

What is crema?

Crema is often used to balance out spicy flavours like chipotle and is close to a crème fraîche but thinner.
